Living instead of Worrying

Worrying is like paying a debt you don’t owe” – Mark Twain

Hello, my name is Rich and I want to introduce a new show called My Promising Life. I don’t have all of the answers. I am still searching just like you are. I have found a lot of help from many different places and I will bring them to you, so that if you don’t have the life that you want right now, hopefully I can help you achieve the life that you desire.

I have tried to take over and do things my way in life, and I have found out over and over that I fail just about every time. Just to give you an example I have a left a couple of different jobs with a grand idea that life was better somewhere else. What happened? I was struggling at first, then I found my feet and took off. Things would be going good then life crept back in and guess what…I did it again.

I don’t recommend this lifestyle as it is hard, very hard. One day, everything will find you and you will have to ask yourself am I going to Forget Everything And Run, or am I going to Face Everything And Rise!

One thing that I used to deal with that really caused me a lot of grief, was worry. I used to worry about everything happening in my life, other peoples lives, the state of the country, and just worry all together about anything I could.

It finally took me, stopping and looking back at my life and what I had gone through, dealt with, and was dealing with at the time. I also looked in the mirror and realized I was looking older than I should. I felt bad, had no energy, basically scared of my own shadow.

I remember when I was driving truck and I really didn’t have anyone to talk to. So, I turned to talk radio and found some solace (so I thought). I started listening to Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones…etc. Over time I became paranoid of what everyone was doing, the way everyone was acting, and treating other people.

It was so bad that I had myself convinced that we needed to be prepared (which actually we do need to be prepared for anything). But, I basically was looking around every corner just waiting for something to happen.

Well, finally after I realized where I was going, my thoughts, and just what it was doing to me overall. I stopped listening (which was really hard and took a little bit of time). After about a couple of years, I realized that it didn’t matter what was happening around me. This stuff goes on day to day with or without us participating.

So after I woke up and realized that I was the only one basically killing myself over worry and doubt. None of my friends and family worried about it and I had to force myself to stop. I decided to change the channel so to speak and put different idea’s in my mind.

I turned to listening to Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, started reading books by Dale Carnegie. I’ve listened to Tony Robbins, Charles Stanley and many more others.

Zig Ziglar said “Your input determines your output. Your output determines your outlook, and your outlook determines your future.

When I read that and pondered on it, I realized, that if I wanted inner peace and to start being happier with myself then worry and self doubt had to go away.

So, that is what I have been doing for about the last 15 years or so and I can tell you from experience that my life is a whole lot better than what it was. I am happier, healthier, and grateful to be alive. No longer do I wonder how I am going to deal with this person, or that situation or anything like that.

I have started realigning my thoughts to coordinate with the good that I want to see in my life. That is what I want to achieve with this podcast. I want to help you become the best version of yourself.

I am someone who has a microphone, a full time job, and wants to start a conversation with you, to become better today than you were yesterday.

If you have any questions, comments, or ideas you would like to share. Please send an email to Richard@mypromisinglife.com I will respond as quickly as possible.

Thank you for reading and have a blessed day.

Until then, take care and know that “you can have everything in life that you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want” – Zig Ziglar
